Let me confess something to you, I was super motivated (well pushed) to do so because I had a pending hernia operation. The doctor actually said to me that if I did not lose weight by the surgery date he was going to cancel the surgery. He explained that when there is too much abdominal fat it is like working with jello. Not fun!
So, here I was, no messing around I had to lose the weight! And, I am sure you are like me, I do not do well on a starvation diets and I seem to be weight loss resistant. I was working out 5 times a week at a gym and I was still fat!

I FINALLY Learned the TRUTH
Once I learned the TRUTH behind the foods we are eating thinking they are making us healthy did I FINALLY lose the weight! It is downright disgusting what the food industry has us believing! I was basically eating what I thought were healthy foods that were made to help me maintain my weight or help me lose weight. BOY was I wrong!
Once I learned the dirty secrets about our food I removed the ones causing the problems and incorporated the “real foods” for weight loss and it was so easy to lose weight! Have You Heard Sherie's story on struggling with weight loss?
My weight gain story starts with after getting pregnant. My whole life I have been blessed with the lean genes as I call it. I was always happy, active and lean partly because I have always been athletic. When I became pregnant I was not as active and I used the pregnancy excuse to eat whatever I wanted. NOT GOOD!

I gained 50 pounds with my first child and it was hard for me to look in the mirror at the fat girl staring back. Worse, I made two television appearances during this time and for the first time in my life I felt so self -conscious about the weight gain I almost cancelled. I knew that I had to do something about it.
The problem losing the weight was I lacked motivation. I was heavy! I was sluggish, I was suffering for the first time in my life with lack of confidence and low self-esteem and was painfully self-conscious because of how I looked.
This is almost too embarrassing to share but, I was so self-conscious about my weight gain and belly fat that I would not leave the house unless I took my son with me. My thinking was that if people saw me without my son they would think “oh look at that fat person.” BUT if I had my baby with me they would think Oh she’s not fat, she just had a baby.
My weight gain was effecting my relationship with my husband who was concerned for me because we could no longer do active things together and this was causing me to stress eat and go further down the rabbit hole into a world of despair I just did not want to go.
I too was disillusioned by the marketing mistruths
I had enough and did the research to figure out what foods were really causing my weight gain. I was shocked at how many foods I was eating that were causing my body to hang on to fat. I ditched the so-called weight loss foods and introduced the right foods and my weight started to shift for the better. It was enough of a shift that I started to feel motivated once again. It gave me the little bump I needed to getting back to my active lifestyle and finally lose the 50+ pounds.
